That we are more fascinated by how people paint or sculpt than by what their work says is telling. Living in a technically fascinating world has raised the curiosity bar to a new and ever higher level. It is therefore not surprising that we react this about human creativity. . . That individuals still express themselves seems to enthrall us as much as the miraculous functioning of a microchip. But what they have to say seems to elude us. Suffice to say, maturity  will have entered our lives the day we discover the ever repeated message of the contemporary art world : "You're not listening to me are you!" - 23-01-08

I was born in a time when the sculpted or painted nude was perceived and displayed as historic, heroic, poetic, beautiful. I now live in a naked time when  an artistic nude reflects an institutionalized disdain for the body bringing on a politically correct self-loathing only possible in the tortured minds of the "need to be interned". - 26-11-07
