Dressing for a portrait:

As with traditional portraits, dress depends on the purpose or function of a portrait. In contemporary portraiture, traditional blends with contemporary, often blurring   the more traditional definitions of "acceptable" dress. This blending may play a part in deciding the formality or informality of the final composition.
