Dans le cadre des célébrations du 150e anniversaires de la ville d’Ottawa et du 160e anniversaire de la fondation des Sœurs de la Charité d’Ottawa, un comité formé de gens engagés ont souhaité souligner l’apport de Mère Élisabeth Bruyère et de Sainte Marguerite d’Youville au développement de la capitale nationale en leur dédiant un monument au cimetière Beechwood.

As part of the150 th anniversary celebrations of the City of Ottawa and the 160 th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa, a group of committed individuals wished to honour Mother Élisabeth Bruyère and Saint Marguerite d’Youville as well as their important role in the development of our Nation’s Capital. To this end, a monument has been erected in the north-eastern section of Beechwood Cemetery.

Cette toile de la main de l'artiste Bernard Poulin (don en grande partie) représente la composition future du monument telle que conçue par le sulpteur Achim Klaas. La toile, reproduite à 350 exemplaires a servi d'outil de prélèvement de fond - afin de payer les dépenses du monument.

This painting by Bernard Poulin (in large part a donation of the artist) represents the composition as laid out by the sculptor Achim Klaas. Reproductions of the painting helped raise the funds required to pay off the monument project's expenses.
