Artwork Mystery

This coloured pencil drawing (only a black and white photo is available) disappeared not long after being shipped to an art gallery in Denver Colorado. Silence for at least a year ensues. Eventually, I discover that the art gallery has gone bankrupt. But there is no sign of my drawing.

Not long afterwards my wife and I are having coffee at a bed and breakfast in Bermuda. At our table is a very interesting gentleman. Fascinated that I am a painter he pulls out a business card which describes him as an FBI Agent specializing in art theft.

I speak of my lost drawing. He generously offers to “look into” the situation. We then go our separate ways. We to Canada and the officer to his duties in the United States. Not many months later, I receive a long distance telephone call. . . My artwork has been found. . . The day it arrives in Sudbury it goes into an art exhibition and is sold.
