List Price = 1 subject only :

• Each additional person = add 30% to the list price. (No additional persons are possible in the first three - smaller - dimensions listed in the oil portrait category.)

Backgrounds :

• There are no additional charges for backgrounds. The artist will complete a background which best suits the portrait. (It is not necessary for the portrait subject to be posed in the “required” background or geographical area. The artist is an accomplished creator of environments and can duplicate this with appropriate reference material.)

Framing :

• Framing costs are in addition to the list price. If requested, the artist or agent will make appropriate framing arrangements

Additional Expenses - Frais additionnels

• Travel-accommodation expenses incurred by the artist in the execution of a portrait are in addition to the stated portrait prices unless the artist is already on a scheduled portrait trip to the designated area.
• handling and shipping charges.
• import duties and/or taxes.

• Once the artist and a client have confirmed a portrait shall be painted of a specific subject and once the actual work on that commissioned portrait has begun the client may request additional consultation and/or collaboration time in the design process of that work - but if this consultation or discussion with the artist formulates a request or demand to alter in any way the already established composition and/or structure of the begun work – an additional fee of 75% of the list price will be requested before any additional work, alteration or new composition is created  in order to complete the aforementioned commission.  

Alterations :

• All artwork will be completed in a professional & tasteful manner. In a portrait, the client's expectation of "likeness" will be respected.
• If it is deemed that the artist has been remiss in his responsibilities concerning likeness and/or tasteful representation, alterations will be done gratis. All other alterations or additional changes will be completed at the client's expense.
• Alteration fees = $200. per hour + crating, shipping, (both ways), insurance & applicable taxes and duties.

Payment Schedule :

• A 1/3 deposit (**), is required at the time of confirmation. A payment schedule may be customized, at the discretion of the artist or agent, prior to the completion of the commissioned portrait. Otherwise, the full balance owing is due on receipt of the finished portrait.   

Delivery :

• A commissioned painting will be completed and shipped to the client within a period of time established by the painter and the client. (Generally, 3 to 4 months, unless otherwise contracted.) Where the artist is asked to move up a delivery date substantially, the specific portrait’s price(s) will be doubled.

Deductions :

• Leasing fees are tax deductible for businesses. Purchases of Canadian art are depreciable as a business expense. (Please consult your accountant or financial advisor.
